what a weekend!

For those of you who live in the area, you might know that Columbus Day is the busiest tourist weekend in Maine, not Memorial Day or Labor Day. Well, we were blessed with some ridiculously perfect weather this year. And the masses were definitely out and about! Today I met up with some college friends for lunch in Perkins Cove (George Bush arrived in town on his boat for lunch at the same time). Later, I went to the beach with Dakota and we were approached by a film crew for the Fine Living Network to be interviewed for a special about Fall in New England. When I mentioned I have a friend working for their company (see a few previous posts back about that), they were excited to chat...

They began filming us as Dakota and I were walking down a footpath between the parking lot and the beach. The host (and his crew behind him) walked toward us, as if he just happened upon us and started a conversation. Dakota wasn't so sure of this entourage, and was spooked by their equipment (the sound mic especially). And, well, she started howling at them. Not her regular dog bark, but her full on hound howl. It was quite humorous. And likely ensures that they'll cut our interview from the sequence. But if it does run, look for me answering questions about why Fall is the best time to visit Maine, why I love Maine, bla bla bla. It was fun!

My little nephew in an apple orchard!

Thank you Emilie! The fall pictures of Nathan are priceless. We are so thankful and spoiled to have such an amazing photographer (and auntie) to capture Nathan's adorable moments!
