* Kara and Eli

by

Wow! A beautiful sunny, breezy and bug-free day was the perfect combination for Kara and Eli's Kennebunkport ceremony and Biddeford backyard reception (at Eli's mother's home).

There are too many pictures from the day to post here, so be sure to check out the slideshow (the music is Patty Griffin's "Heavenly Day," Kara and Eli's first dance).

I was so surprised when I showed up 2.5 hours before the ceremony and Kara was already dressed and ready to go! This was a sweet moment when Eli slipped her a note, without peeking at her (she's giggling because he wrote it on the inn stationery).
The guys getting ready.
Kara, an art teacher, made their program out of a vintage postcard of the church she found on eBay and a love letter Eli's grandfather wrote to his grandmother in the 40's.
Kara and Eli rode from the church to their reception in a '57 Bel Air from Classic Convertibles in Freeport.
The wedding party in one of the beautiful gardens at Eli's mother's home. The bridesmaids wore the neatest wrap dresses from Calypso.
Guests walk to the field for the reception in the gorgeous Sperry Tent. Sperry just opened an office in Portsmouth (hooray!) so be sure to check them out if you are hosting a backyard reception.
A sweet moment as Kara enters her reception.
There are many fun dancing pictures in the slideshow, but I had to post this silly one of the best man playing air guitar. Glad I didn't get kicked. ;)Kara and Eli's beautiful hand-painted save-the-date and invitations, seen on the slideshow, were made by ILEE in Seattle.

Thank you SO much for having me, Kara and Eli. I loved spending the day with you and your family. You all made me feel so welcome and I had a blast! Can't wait to hear all about your honeymoon to Italy (Kara and Eli registered for their honeymoon online at thehoneymoon.com. What a great idea!)!

  1. Emilie- I so enjoyed watching that slideshow (ironically- it's the same pastor as the wedding I shot at Bowdoin the previous weekend and yes, the Bowdoin banner emerged at the reception as well at that wedding!) I loved the sequence of her receiving his card, the fuzzy dice, the lavender in the napkin, and so many other shots that caused me to catch my breath! You outdid yourself!
