Gia and Brian live in Chicago so I was not able to meet them in advance, but it was like greeting old friends when we arrived for the weekend. There were so many wonderful things about their wedding weekend... the scenery, the weather, the warmth of their friends and family, and the obvious love between them.

There are more than 2,000 images from the weekend, so be sure to check out a glimpse of the fun on the slideshow (it takes a while to load because there are so many images, so hang tight!).

J was my second photographer for the weekend. Here, he is working the low angle at the rehearsal dinner (hosted by a family friend on Barter's Island) while I am up on the rocks.

A few details from the wedding day:

Gia's family has had a summer home within the Spruce Point Inn complex for years, so Gia got ready there while J was with the boys at the Inn.

The line-up of men (Brian is in the center).

At the church, Gia's dad was a little confused about what to do with the veil- he tried to put it back over her face after giving her a quick peck. Too cute!

I took the picture on the left, while J was outside waiting for the newlyweds to exit the church. Love the lens flare!

During Gia's father's toast.

A sweet glance during the first dance.

Thank you so much for having us, Gia and Brian. We wish you both endless happiness and love. Enjoy your travels, and definitely check out Mattei's Tavern in Los Olivos!

* Steffany and Rob

by

I had a great time photographing Steff and Rob's wedding at Sebasco Harbor Resort. Their event oozed of sweetness and tenderness all day long under beautiful July afternoon sun.

Aren't these two the cutest?!?

Ellen and Lauren of Signed, Sealed, Delivered created a passport/boating stationery theme. This is the save-the-date, a ticket.

The rings (in a shell, of course)!
Steve Barton of Harmon's and Barton's did a beautiful job with the flowers.

The adorable flower girl waiting for the ceremony to start.
Mr. and Mrs! Notice Steff's something-blue? Her earrings.
Rob gave a heart-wrenchingly sweet toast, during which he thanked his new wife. Steff couldn't make eye contact because she was so emotional, but was quick to give a smooch when he sat back down.
Steff and her dad, Ron Hodge (aka the president of Hannaford- love that store!) had a great time during their father-daughter dance.
The Bob Charest Band had everyone rockin' into the night!

Congratulations, Steff and Rob! It was such a pleasure to document your special day. I hope your New England honeymoon was fantastic!!!

Notice anything different about the blog?! It has been redesigned to look a bit more like my website and feature a wider posting area, enabling me to post BIG pictures! Wow!
You'll also notice a reorganized sidebar! Be sure to sign up for my e-newsletter if you haven't already... I will be sending out a summer issue in just a few weeks. I have two projects in the works (Roots Workshop and News Wedding Photographers) which you will notice are featured in the sidebar a bit prematurely. Those websites should be live within the next month. I will fill you in on them in greater detail then.

For those of you who subscribe to this blog using Bloglines, Technorati, etc., please note the address has changed to blog.emilieinc.net (There is a subscribe button if you scroll to the bottom of the blog).

world's Tallest groom

by

The world's tallest man, Bao Xishun, who stands at 7', 8" married 5', 6" Xia Shujuan at a public wedding ceremony in China today. Wow!

J has a great friend who jokes that he is a bit on the shorter side. So when photographing taller couples, he has his assistant tote around a stool, which he has dubbed his "man-maker," to give him a height advantage. I bet he would have needed a ladder to take this portrait (AP).

Kriss Cosmetics

by

I met Kriss Soterion (of Kriss Cosmetics in Manchester, NH) as she was applying make-up to a bridal party last fall and adored her instantly- she's outgoing, witty, sassy, fun- and talented! She has received national recognition in the past, but was recently lauded for her application on Sen. Clinton at the Democratic debates on June 3rd (Kriss' work on the right). CNN was so impressed they have hired Kriss and her team for the rest of the 17-month presidential campaign! Wow! Many congrats, Kriss. This notoriety couldn't have happened to a better artist!

* Beth and Brian

by

Beth and Brian met in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where Brian was the chef at a resort and Beth worked in the spa. He used to send her treats from the kitchen to get her attention. ;) They now live in Maine and planned a beautiful seaside wedding for their guests in York.

Here are a few images from the busy day:

Getting coiffed.
Beth adjusting the rings on the ring bearer's pillow at the Harbor Crest Inn.
You don't often see children as readers at weddings. I loved this line-up of readers during the ceremony, and how the microphone goes over the little girl's head at the podium. Too cute!
Married!
The wave on the trolley.
Mr. and Mrs.
Surrounded by friends and family on the dance floor, having a blast!
The girls lined up these chairs for a booty-shaking routine to Outkast's "Hey Ya."
The reception site, The York Harbor Reading Room, at night. Brian is a chef at the club.
This is Beth with Kelly, a friend of mine who I met at 6th grade camp! Beth and Kelly became friends during graduate school. It was such fun to have a familiar face among all the guests!Thank you so much for having me, Beth and Brian!! Your wedding was such fun and I appreciated all the thoughtful details of your special day. Have a great honeymoon!!
