I became fast friends with Kelsie and Reg the moment we met. Having all grown up in New Hampshire, we were shocked to discover that my aunt was Reg's high school English teacher and my cousin baby-sat for him! Such a small world. We stayed in close touch after our initial meeting, and since they live in Portland I have been lucky to get to know this pair (mostly around eating- Reg is an amazing cook!).
On their wedding day, therefore, I felt so much more like a guest than their photographer. I got choked up a number of times myself, and felt the weighty emotion of every minute of the day. Their wedding was one that was filled with such joy and a love that I cannot put into words. I can only share that witnessing in and being a part of their planning and wedding day inspired J and I to finally put pen to paper and start our own wedding plans!

Kelsie got ready in a suite at the Inn on Peaks.
What a gorgeous inn! It's decorated with beautiful, bright Maine Cottage-like furniture.
Kelsie and Reg used rocks as their escort cards.
I love the expression of Kelsie's father as he sees her for the first time!
Wyndee captured this adorable series of the ring bearer wanting in on the groomsmen's toast!
The ceremony site, on the lawn of the Peaks Island House (across the street from the Inn on Peaks). Such a shame that the fog rolled in just before their nuptials. It's hard to believe, but on a nice day you can see the Portland skyline from here. At least it didn't rain!
Kelsie and her father walking down the aisle to meet Reg.
After their first kiss, Reg gave Kelsie the sweetest smooch on her hand.
The super fun bridal party.
Kelsie kicked off her shoes for some beach portraits.
Aren't they adorable?!
Under the pier. I love this one!
And then time to get to their reception.
Dinner was tented on the grounds of the Inn.
The reception was a fantastic party! It was the first time I had heard Mirage perform and they were wonderful. Definitely check them out if you are looking for talented, fun live music!
I always try and anticipate when guests are going to hit the floor and do my best to get in close. But this time I got kicked in the shins while taking this picture, hard enough to leave a bruise! Ooops!
My dear Kelsie and Reg: I am so honored to know you and am so proud of you both! A hundred thousand thank you's for selecting me to be your wedding photographer and more importantly, my friend. J and I love you both!
Kelsie's reaction to the blog:
WOW! emilie! It is so so awesome!.....And brought me right back to that day and wow....I'm filled with those emotions all over again. Thank you thank you thank you. Everytime I look thru the images, one thing I love is that I see something different I didn't notice before. I just saw the shot you captured of the band's sheet music "Foggy Day" --- how fitting!! You are unbelievable :)
And to their Pictage gallery:
I'm sure you hear from all your clients how happy and excited they are to look at their photos, but I can't even put into words how happy and thankful I feel to have such beautiful images of our day. You captured the essence of the day with such beauty and I can honestly feel the emotions all over again by looking at the photos. I couldn't ask for anything more. You are truly amazing -- so talented. I have no idea how we will ever choose for the album and/or frames. Rejean and I will be forever grateful. THANK YOU!
And Kelsie sent along an image that one of her guests had taken of me shooting during the ceremony.
