our plans

At long last, we're ready to share our wedding plans with you! And so, to answer the questions everyone has been asking:

1. We are getting married on April 25, 2009, in St. John (USVI).
2. Jules Bianchi will be photographing it.

Since we cannot squeeze in our own wedding in Maine in the summer (because of our busy season photographing our clients' weddings), it made sense to travel somewhere else to say our I Do's during the off-season. It will be very simple and small- just our immediate families and close friends on a beach. Our reception will be a dinner party at a private villa (below).




Photo colleague Jules Bianchi will be documenting the events. And Kate Parker will be coordinating the day and decor. J and I are heading down to the island for a quick scouting trip next month to sort out some of the other details!

Many of my clients have used a similar template site and I think it's a fantastic way to bundle everything in one, easy place for guests to get all the information they need. We chose a Wedding Window template and found it fairly easy to use, minus navigating the overly-busy editing interface.

It's been such a fun learning process being on the other side of wedding planning and we appreciate each and every one of you who have walked this path before us! Your love and friendship is an inspiration!

  1. Congratulations Emilie!! I'm so excited for you two!! I remember seeing you together for the first time at WPPI, when you were "barely" dating... and thinking right then and there that this was meant to be. ;-) We MUST get together soon!!

  2. So happy for you both, Em! Great choices on the venue and the person to capture it all! And glad everything is finally coming together and hoping you're having some time to relax and just enjoy the excitement of wedding planning. We'll be happy to dogsit while you're in St. John in April!

  5. Congrats on getting the first leg of the planning DONE. We planned our wedding in 2006 and it certainly takes on a life of it's own! I'm sure you are begging to seriously empathize with your brides so much more! The key is to have fun and that place looks amazing!

  6. Congratulations, Emilie! My fiance and I are getting married on the same day. But I suppose there's only so many off-season days a wedding photographer can get married. We'll be doing the cold and rainy Boston version though : )

  7. Em - congrats on these huge wedding decisions and your new NPO - so exciting. These have been such an amazing few years for you and it has been such a joy to follow - even if from afar!

    Selfishly, I'm so happy to see you and J will be wed one day after mine & Bill's 5th anniversary! April was a great month for us to get married - I hope you share the same happiness we have and more!
