Every wedding is similar in format, yes, but every wedding is so different from the one before. We returned to Church Landing after having just photographed a wedding there. And even tho the venue was the same, this wedding had a very different feel than the previous one. The ceremony was inside as it was raining outside and an evening soiree.
Jen and Mike are blessed to have more sets of parents than any other couple I have met. Tho complicated, the extra love was felt by all, especially during a moving toast by Jen's father who spoke of her deceased mother. Weddings are a wonderful celebration of love and life, made momentarily heart wrenching by such a significant empty chair.
On to the photos...
Nearly bare trees at Church Landing.
Same scene, but while I was standing in the jacuzzi tub. ;) I love pulling back and showing all the details of a space- the little table, light and random postcard wallpaper.
Jen's sister having hair & make-up done at the same time. Now that's pampering!
Our groom, Mike, cool as a cucumber.
A momentary break in the showers.
Gorgeous fall flowers.
Beautiful rings (the center stone of the engagement ring is Jen's grandmother's).
Due to the weather and time of day, the ceremony was inside the ballroom.
It's definitely not a bad alternative to the tent outside.
A movie star kiss.
The bridal party hanging out, an alternative formal line-up.
Jacques made yet another scrumptious treat.
Her dad's moving toast.
I love when a couple seems lost together on an otherwise nutty dance floor.
My favorite dancing picture of the night.
Do you know this guy? Jeff Lines is a fantastic and fun dj. Look him up if you're searching for one!
Good night, Church Landing! See you in 2009!
Wishing you every happiness, Jen and Mike. And a playdate with your dog Steve (really, their dog is named Steve) soon! We loved working with you and your amazing families! Hugs!
