Last week, I posted the envelopes for our wedding invitations. Now that our guests have received them in the mail, I can share what was inside those stunning sleeves.
At our house when we receive an invitation, we put it on the refrigerator. So, it seemed a fitting place for our own!
This is our invitation suite with letterpressed pieces from Bella Figura (design Onalisse)- simply an invite, map (see more about this below), wedding announcement and thank you note. We didn't need a reply card, as we have known for months who is coming.
I love the gorgeous letterpress. Some girls dream of their wedding dress; I have visions of luscious paper products. :)
We'll be having a party at the studio in May for local friends and relatives, to toast with champagne and cupcakes, and view our images on the big screen. Musician Peter Miles, who played at the studio opening, will return.
And our adorable thank yous.
I love our invitations, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed with the colors. If you are ordering an unusual color and have a particular shade in mind, be sure to request a sample proof, or have a Pantone fan deck on hand to match. Don't trust the PDF proof and your computer's monitor for accuracy. I also had the unfortunate luck of being bounced among associates at Bella Figura, and therefore some frustrating miscommunication. Owner Harold eventually landed my account and took good care of me. It was a great reminder of how important good customer service is for a client's overall experience.
Thanks to Liene Stevens, I learned of Laura Hooper Calligraphy's custom maps. How sweet is this little map she made to include with our invitations? It also includes permission to post on a blog or wedding website, and an enlargement for framing!
The map was originally printed with the compass on the right side. I thought it looked a bit unbalanced, so had her reprint with the compass on the left. When ordering anything printed, don't trust your computer. Be sure to print and give it a long look.
The reverse side has our weekend schedule.
I was impressed with Laura's pretty packaging.
She describes her maps as darling. I couldn't agree more.
So there you have it! 40 days to go!
