* Linda and Brielle

In this life, we're lucky to meet several people along the way who have great impact, who influence and inspire the way we conduct our own lives. Linda is one of these people for me. I initially met her through our dog's daycare in 2006 after she spotted some photographs I had taken there and hired me to photograph her 5 month old yellow lab Allie. Linda and I had both moved to Maine not long before to be closer to family, and I recall admiring her fantastic outlook on life, career success and beautiful home. Tho single, she had attained each life goal she had set for herself but one...

Two years later I returned to photograph Linda's belly, as she was preparing for the arrival of a baby! Still independent and not wanting to wait any longer for Mr Right, Linda chose to have a child on her own. I am so proud of her for forging her own life path and not waiting for one to fall into place.

Last week, I was finally able to meet her precious little girl, Brielle, now 18 months and a total joy. Linda, Brielle, Allie and I spent an hour playing at Ferry Beach in Scarborough capturing Brielle at the beach, and the bond between this special mother and child.

Allie, now almost 3.

Love the pigtails.

We played in the sand.

And looked for shells.

And splashed a lot!

Brielle l-o-v-e-s the water.

Soon, the diaper was off!

What a sweet evening. We talked about scheduling a holiday card portrait in a few months, so you'll be seeing more of Brielle on the blog soon!
