Twice a year, I organize a gathering of Maine's women wedding photographers for lunch. For this fall get-together, however, we met after work for a wine tasting with Jacques de Villier of Old Port Wine Merchants at Casco Bay Frames & Gallery in Portland.
Shop owner Tony Cox (seen in the picture below with the ladies) chatted about the store's history (been in business for more than 30 years!), a bit about their employees (all are artists), their process (all pieces are custom framed) and showed us the finished result. Then it was back to wine learning and gabbing (Maine's election results as they relate to our business was top of mind), business card swapping and catching up after a busy regular wedding season. There were several new women who joined us, growing our group's total to more than 50 photographers!
Thanks to J who took this group photo of us. For more images of the store, please check out my vendor tour from March here.
Thanks for hosting, Tony, and for kindly giving gift certificates to us all. And to Jacques, who also wasn't feel well, for rallying for us. We had a great night!
