Jennifer and Steve brought us to St. John in November to photograph their elopement on the very same beach where we tied the knot just a few months before. They returned to Portland and planned a festive celebration with the kind staff at the cozy Danforth Inn for New Year's Eve. While dolled up and donning party hats, guests dined on passed hors d'oeuvres, sipped pomegranate punch and watched as we shared the images of their ceremony in the sand. It was a perfectly festive, yet casual, way to celebrate the union between these two and meet their friends and family who we had heard so much about on our trip.

After seeing the images for the first time Jenn's best friend pulled me aside and teared up as she thanked me for documenting their elopement with such care. She had really wanted to attend and was heartbroken to not make it. "These are more than pictures," she said, "you brought me to the beach, too."

Steve and Jenn shared a first dance and cut a wedding cake, traditions we didn't do in St. John.

We moved to the game room in the Inn's basement to welcome 2010.

And of course we brought Maine's Snapshot Studio!

Check out their beautiful album from both St John and this party below or clicking here.

I have a feeling you'll be seeing more of these new friends on the blog with an addition to their family in the coming year - four legged or two is still yet to be determined. :) Congratulations! And Happy New Year, all!

  1. I wish someone I know would have a cool New Year's Eve wedding celebration like this one! I'm sick of never having good plans.

Seeing those 2010 glasses makes me realize that the coming years aren't going to lend themselves nearly as well to glasses format.
