meet our studio manager Erin

by

2010 is off to a great start, this first week in particular, made possible by the addition of a studio manager to the emilie inc. team. Meet Erin, who will now also be known as my right arm.

This is my seventh year having my own business and I've reached a point where I just can't do it all by myself anymore. Taking care of all the administrative tasks of running a growing photography business has ironically left me with less and less time to actually photograph. Tho I actually really love the day-to-day "playing office" at the studio, it's high time to delegate. This was crystal clear to me when my body recently knocked me flat with pneumonia from a crazy busy year-end 2009.

Enter Erin.

Our mutual friend Eric Laurits arranged an introduction after hearing my plans to expand and duly noted his college friend's recent move to Portland and subsequent search for employment. As it was when I met emilie inc. employee #1, designer Christina, Erin and I instantly clicked when she stopped by to chat during the East End Shops holiday stroll early last month. We bonded over hot cocoa with too many marshmallows and small talk about owning small businesses and the lure of Maine's coast.

Erin moved to Portland in the fall from NYC where she owned and operated her own boutique in the Lower East Side called Clarabella. Previous, she was a marketing manager for the Verve Music Group. She grew up in Maine and attended Colby College where she was a music major and has now returned after a decade away to be closer to family and a sweet fella named Jason (another J).

Stop by and say hello, or give the studio a ring. A friendly new voice will be on the other end to greet you.

Please note:
207.272.2285 (877-2-EMILIE) is now our main studio line.
