Moving, Part 1
• by emilie
Following the recent closing of our first floor neighbor, the beloved North Star Music Cafe, my landlord offered me the chance to vacate as his ideal tenant will occupy all three floors of the building. With our lease expiring soon and knowing already that I wouldn't be renewing the space for another three years, we bit. And today, we moved out.
Why, you might ask? Business is fabulous and I adore my wonderful staff and clientele, no worries there, but I have decided to transition to a home studio instead. Our current home is on the market and we're looking forward to finding (or building) a property to better suit both our growing business and growing family in the same location. It's all very exciting, and a bit surreal.
I'd be remiss if I didn't take a moment to thank all of you who have visited 227 Congress Street either for a client meeting, a networking event or social gathering. That space had such a creative, joyful energy, one that I often described to people as "playing office" as it never truly felt like I would go to work when I walked through that door. With the addition of more photographers, videographers and studio staff since I opened, it was definitely the right space to push my business to new heights and I couldn't be happier with the creative team that embodies emilie inc. One dream accomplished, I will treasure the memories of my first studio as I look forward to the next phase of dream chasing: becoming a mom and having a home studio.
I'll definitely keep you posted! In the meantime, it's business as usual, with our staff working remotely keeping our regular office hours (Mon-Thurs, 9a-5p). We can still be reached via the same phone number (207.272.2285) and email addresses.
