Whitney had the pleasure of documenting the ultra cool, intimate celebration of Jeff and Liu at the hip Nine Zero Hotel in Boston, a place these two walk by every day on their way to work. In lieu of a traditional wedding schedule, they readied in the same suite together, had a small ceremony with 60 friends, then had a wonderful dinner party followed by a lively Wii competition. We love the black and white details of this day and the general tenderness between Liu and Jeff.
How they met, in Liu's words:
We both work for the same advertising agency. Jeff's a copywriter, I'm a graphic designer. It's a 500+ office so we had no interaction until we were assigned to the same project on December of 2007. Our relationship was strictly professional then and after the project was over, we lost touch but re-connected almost a year later when a mutual friend was leaving the agency and we both attended his going-away party. Till this day we credit him for bringing us together.
After "doing the dance" for a couple of months, our official first date was on January 17, 2009. The proposal came in April of 2010 after an adventurous meal including lobster sashimi (the lobster's head was used as a garnish and its eyes and legs moved during the entire dinner).
And now here we are :)
Live lobster? Holy cow! These two are adventurous. Check out their sweet album and a few images below:
Happy congratulations, Liu and Jeff!! Thank you so much for choosing to work with emilie inc. Happiness to you always.
