Historically Thanksgiving has never been my favorite holiday, mostly due to the fact that I don't eat meat and seem to cry every year as the electric carving knife is fired up to shear the carcass of a wild creature on our table top. The meaning of Thanksgiving, however, and its timely positioning as we kick off a most wonderful holiday season of giving, I adore and take very seriously. It's a much-needed pause to inventory that which is good, and consider our lucky fortune no matter how lucky or how fortunate compared to those around us.
We've wrapped up another tremendous year at emilie inc., photographing 50 weddings with a staff that has now grown to include 9 of the most kind, caring and dedicated individuals I am glad to call friends. And, as you know, J and I are eagerly anticipating the January arrival of our first born. Preparations for this little life have included selling our house, closing the studio and finding a house with more space to accommodate both in the past few months. We move to our new address in Cumberland Foreside on Tuesday and cannot wait to share more with you as we settle into our new digs (and hope you will come by for a visit and maybe a baby cuddle, too).
In the meantime, take a gander at the little guy who recently made an appearance in the Maine Snapshot Studio and, if you look closely, you can make out his sweet nose and lips in a 3D ultrasound we had earlier this week. Unbelievable.
Enjoy the holiday. xo
