Sigh. Love is so darn sweet. Whitney did a superb job capturing it between Sara and Denis at their recent Kennebunk wedding. From their darling first look on the lawn of the Nonantum Resort and a stroll along the beach, to their garden ceremony peppered with many family and religious traditions. The intimacy of the moments between them remind us how fortunate we are to have the honor of capturing happy days of so many warm and wonderful couples weekend after weekend in the summer.

How they met, in their own words:
Denis and Sara met on a crowded, dilapidated bus in Ecuador. As the bus snaked its way along a precipitous mountain road for three hours, they got to know each other. Denis was on his way home to Chugchilan, a remote village in the heart of the Andes where he was serving as a Peace Corps volunteer. Sara was backpacking with her sister, traveling to far-flung places throughout South America in search of fun and adventure. That bus ride proved to be the start of a life-long adventure that has been as enrapturing as it was unexpected. Sara only spent three days in Chugchilan, but she stayed in touch with Denis through email. Two years later, they reconnected in Chicago, where they both wound up going to grad school. And the rest, as they say, is history…

Running toward Denis for their first look.

Pre-ceremony wishes from dad.

Bliss!

Love spring wedding and peonies!

Sara and Denis stole away to the balcony to share some yummies alone during the reception.

  1. Sara and Denis, love looking at this post of your wedding again. So happy the weather turned in your favor! The dress shot with your parents, Sara, and the two of you under the huge tree are some of my favorite moments. Thanks again for letting me capture your day. Good luck with the move to Kenya! So excited for you two and all that you have going on. Keep in touch.
