I ran into Nick on Congress Street while I was heading to meet Alyssa and her bridesmaids at Andrea's Bridal. With a huge smile and a hug, he exclaimed "I've missed you!" Oh, it melted my heart, only to be repeated a few moments later when Alyssa did the very same thing inside.
For the past two months I have been documenting the planning process of Alyssa and Nick's wedding, the winners of the Real Maine Weddings magazine's $100,000 giveaway to be held on November 2nd at Grace restaurant in Portland. This is the first time I've photographed a couple this extensively before the wedding day and I am loving every bit of it.
On this day Alyssa and her maids picked out their top three choices for dresses, while Nick and his guys selected their tux choices. Both moms were there and it was wonderful to meet the rest of the wedding party, a warm and very fun group. I'm not sharing their final choices just yet, but you'll be able to vote on them in just a few weeks (voting for Alyssa's wedding band started today. Go vote!).
Sadly, this concludes our planning days. Later this month, however, we'll be photographing Alyssa and Nick's engagement session in Portland and then they'll come to the studio later in the summer to plan for how we (all 6 of us!!) will be photographing their big day.
Amber from Sweetest Thing Weddings is always a great resource, sharing here about making sure all the girls have the same hemline after alterations.
Nick's sweet mom was emotional seeing the girls try on dresses.
An early favorite but later nixed, this wrap dress is a popular style but not the right fit.
Then it was off to Classic Tuxedo in South Portland to meet the guys.
It was so nice to meet Nick's sweet sister, up from Connecticut to join the fun.
Nick's 15 minutes were literally cut short when none of the sample jackets came in his size. His groomsmen modeled the three different looks instead.
Check back on the RMW blog in a few weeks to vote on what the guys will wear!
