Linda and Roger brought together a small group of family and friends to witness their ceremony at Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth.  They both have lost spouses in years past and were lucky to find each other online.  These two have done lots of traveling together since, including their trip to Maine recently, and took the opportunity to not only get married but also to rent a nearby beach house.  After their ceremony and dinner at Inn by the Sea they invited their guests back to the house for more celebrating.  I was there just for the first part of the day, which turned out to be a hot one!

Their sweet ceremony included readings, and even songs, by friends and family which made it feel very personal and special.  I know it was emotional for both Linda and Roger as they teared up at various times, but was also good for a laugh like when Roger's granddaughter Alison helped sing a song sporting some cool shades and gesturing for effect.  Later that evening Linda's father told me "You watch, her name will be up in lights someday."

After some family photos and a quick portrait session everyone sat down to dinner inside (thank goodness for air conditioning) and I packed up my things.  Linda and Roger, I hope you and your families enjoyed the rest of your time in Maine and safe travels home!

How they met, in Linda's words:
Roger and I both lost our spouses after long first marriages and met online (eHarmony). It was a very special match from the start. We traveled the world together, met each other's families, and "adventured" through the first year of his retirement. He surprised me with a proposal over a wonderful dinner in Edinburgh, Scotland 15 months after we met. We had a simple civil ceremony on 11/11/11 and began planning a second wedding celebration for family and friends in Roger's home state (he was born and raised in Sanford, Maine).
