What do you get when you mix together a Vera Wang dress, a Bentley, Superheros, and a surprise choreographed first dance? Lauren and Alex's wedding, of course! These two had a fun wedding and was evident they enjoyed every moment.
There was anticipation jitters as the Bentley rolled up outside Lauren's hotel - her dad couldn't even eat anything due to his excited nerves. At the ceremony, the vows were moving and the emotions Lauren let show through her tears of happiness were raw. A quick drive to Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park and these two were in their element - just being together. During the maid of honor's toast, she and Lauren presented Alex with a He-Man figure - Alex is an avid comic book collector - and placed it in his suit jacket pocket; He-Man seemed at home there!
Alex and Lauren surprised everyone, including me, with a choreographed first dance that broke out with some fast paced moves mid-slow song - funny and creative, just like the two of them. Alex sang a few songs while playing guitar with a buddy he hadn't played with since college. Lauren looked on with smiles and claps when Alex sang her a song he wrote for her. Lauren's cake face smash was epic, folks. Again, another surprise, that left the guests in laughter. However, there were some low Ooo's when Alex managed to sneak in a little frosting on Lauren's face.
These two are adorable together and clearly have fun with each other. The three bridesmaids looked fabulous in their Butter dresses by Nadia - love, love those! - and tore up the dance floor with the other wedding guests. To cap the evening, paper lanterns were lit and released, Alex and Lauren sending off one together. The falling rain made this task quite tricky, but no one seemed phased and eagerly took part in the activity, showing their support and excitement for the bride and groom. This wedding really had it all!
It was extra special for me to photograph, because I know Lauren through a mutual friend - we all worked at Aurora Photos. Along with Alex, we've all enjoyed some brews together at Andy's Pub and grub at Nosh. Lauren now works at a food stock photography agency in Portland. So this gal has her finger on the pulse of photography, and I was honored she wanted me to document her day. Congratulations, Lauren and Alex! I am so happy for you both. Brews at Andy's are in order soon! xo
How they met, in Lauren's words:
We met online at Match.com. I winked at him, he emailed, we had 3 dates and he was the only one for me since that day. Its been 2 and a half years since.
