I don't how I'm getting so lucky lately, but I got to photograph a great couple, Courtney and Tim, on Tim's family's horse farm on a recent snowy day. I'm starting to feel like the official "horse photographer" here at emilie inc., which is absolutely fine by me.
Courtney and I had texted back and forth the morning of the shoot trying to figure out if the winter weather advisory made it worth rescheduling. I loved the idea of the flakes falling while we did their session so we forged ahead. They both had a couple of outfits ready to go, a few ideas about nice backgrounds, and Tim's mom even made a roaring fire on the back patio! They also have an adorable Spaniel puppy that came along and was quite interested in being part of the fun.
We snowshoed on the trails behind the house, visited the horses in the field, wandered about the barn, and went inside a couple of times to warm up. Courtney and Tim were so casual and easygoing, and I was loving the change of pace of shooting in the snow. We wrapped things up with some snuggly photos of them by the fire and I headed home for what turned out to be a slow trip back. I'm so glad we didn't pass on the opportunity to enjoy what winter can bring here in Maine, and can't wait to see these two at their wedding next summer at the Newagen Seaside Inn!
