Meagan Gilpatrick of Maine Seasons Events was kind enough to recently give me a peek inside her world. She runs her wedding planning business out of her home in Topsham. When Meagan outgrew the office in her house, she (and her very handy husband!) built a new space off the back of their garage. I was there on a beautiful spring morning- the windows were open and sunlight illuminated the darling space nestled in their garden.
With wedding season gearing up, Meagan was busy emailing with clients and creating visual designs. I loved seeing her workspace and talking about her current projects. A barn in the backyard serves as storage for the many props Meagan has accumulated over the years. She loves visiting antique shops to see what she might find. Meagan typically makes purchases with specific projects in mind, though occasionally she comes across a piece that she simply cannot pass up. Depending on the design she works out with the client, she may or may not reuse items from previous events.
There are so many design elements and options, it's overwhelming! Especially with the plethora of ever-changing wedding trends, it is important to think about the specific look and feel that is fitting for your wedding day. Meagan takes the time to sit down with each couples at the beginning of the process to figure out their style and how they picture their wedding looking. That way, she can keep the design elements consistent throughout the process and the couple's big day.
It was such a treat to browse through your collection and visit with you, Meagan. We look forward to working with you soon!
