Rachel and Keith's wedding day was a September weather treat in August. The skies were blue and dotted with puffy white clouds. The sun shined bright and the wind blew light. My starting time allowed a peek at each of them prepping and the excited butterflies they felt just before their first look. Muted colored dresses, beautiful hair and makeup, with a dash of sparkles on shoes and jewels, gave Rachel and her bridesmaids a touch of glam. Keith and his groomsmen were stylish and cool in their simple dark gray suits with black ties. Everyone did a tequila shot before the bride and groom met for their first look (a favorite of theirs!).
Throughout their wedding day, I learned just how sweet these two are together. Keith might have shed more tears of happiness than Rachel. And they both won for flashing the most smiles. These two are a happy, happy pair. It is evident he treats her like every woman would want to be treated, and she respects him as every man would want to be.
After a first look with portraits in the Old Port and a charted ferry boat ride on the Islander, the wedding party arrived on my home turf of Peaks Island with enough time to take formal group photos before guests were chartered over. Jones Landing looked beautiful and I found myself discovering plenty of pretty angles to photograph throughout the property. A brief ceremony was still thoughtful, led by Keith's uncle, who did a wonderful job as an officiant for the first time. Right after, the newlyweds and I hopped in a golf cart to grab a few shots on the rocks. These two are so naturally beautiful, I could have photographed them for days! Fortunately, we snuck out again at sunset for some sweet moments of them on the docks.
There was a first dance, parent dances, and tender toasts made by the best man and maid of honor, a cute cake cutting, a killer dessert table, and dancing, dancing, dancing (even some impressive karaoke and The Dougie performed by the groom!). Everyone there was clearly enjoying themselves and happy to celebrate the marriage of Rachel and Keith. What a day, what a night!
Thank you so much, Rachel and Keith, for allowing me to document such a big day in your lives at this moment! I hope to be there for other big moments, too, with camera in hand :) Happy wedding and keep in touch!
