Tina and Jacob's was a seemingly traditional backyard wedding but with an elaborate 1920's backyard beach theme. Men wore hats and ladies adorned their hair with jewels and feathers. Tina inherited her great grandmother's first name (Ethleen) as her middle name and her grandmother's last name was Peacock, so these beautiful feathers added to the decor. They were also etched in to Tina and Jacob's champagne flutes.
The wedding took place at Jacob's family's summer home in Downeast Maine, the perfect location for the couple and their loved ones who enjoy hiking, sailing, climbing and otherwise being outdoors. The forecast called for a chance of rain, but as friends and family members set up for the celebration, the sun rolled in and the fog rolled out. The couple exchanged vows under the trees on the point where Jacob proposed the previous spring, the ceremony officiated by a close family friend. Afterwards, I had the pleasure of sneaking out on the water with the newlyweds. Jacob's dad boated us out to the trimaran, a beautiful vessel on which Tina and Jacob were taking their minimoon to Acadia. It was gorgeous.
Everyone enjoyed cocktails on the lawn, dinner on the porch, a vintage-themed photo booth and music and dancing courtesy of their band, A-frame. It was a great celebration. Many thanks again, Tina and Jacob, for inviting me to be a part of it! Congrats!
How they met, in their own words:
We met in yoga teacher training and proceeded to teach each other to
surf (Jacob is teaching Tina) and to climb (Tina teaching Jacob). We
moved to Maine in May from New York City.
