Ali and Jason's tented Cape Neddick daytime wedding

All of the couples I've photographed who marry at All Saints Church have a strong history with the church, oftentimes their parents have married there.  Ali and Jason are no different.  Ali was baptized in this church, and while her parents didn't marry in it, the same officiant Father Leroy conducted Ali and Jason's ceremony.  To top it off, the same band, Bo Winiker, also played at Ali's parents' wedding!

Ali and Jason have been on opposite sides of the continent for about the last year of their relationship, conquering the long distance feat that jobs and work always seem to challenge couples with.  Hailing from Canada, Jason has been at home in Vancouver while his bride-to-be works as a TV news reporter in Plattsburgh, NY.  Jason is making the move cross continent for Ali and his job, so the two have lots going on.  But deciding to have their wedding celebration at Ali's parents home in Cape Neddick was a special way for them to come together with friends and family for their big day.

The day was simple and elegant with absolutely beautiful weather that highlighted the gorgeous ocean views seen from the house lawn.  Jason was handsomely dapper in his tux and neatly combed hair.  Ali looked stunning in her dress, borrowing something from her mother and sister.  Her grandmother even made two necklaces from a string of her own pearls -- Ali wore one and her sister will wear the other when her own wedding day comes.  Ali and Jason were composed all day, but the excitement and happiness was apparent.  Their natural tendency towards performance, however, could not be contained on the dance floor.  Did I mention these two are both talented figure skaters and met while training in Pennsylvania?!

One of my favorite moments of the day was while I was photographing the invite and paper products (another beautiful job done by the gals at Gus and Ruby!), Jason checked in with me, making sure I was doing okay -- so sweet of him.  I asked him -- more importantly -- how he was doing.  He simply stated, "I feel blessed."  He told me about when he first met Ali, how he took her to NYC for Valentine's Day, and how the two both knew from the moment they met that there was something special between them.  "When you just know, you know," Jason said.

Thank you, Ali and Jason for having me photograph your wedding!  It was a beautiful day, and I am so happy I could be a part of it.  I wish you all the best and good luck in upstate NY!
