During this ground breaking call, I did get to know a bit about the now-newlyweds. Adventure was of utmost importance to Carla and Wolfie evidenced by their starting the relationship off long distance between New York and Boston, as well as by journeys to distant islands south, and dog sled rides north. Also touched on during our 'video chat' was my work as a still photographer on set for television. This led to Carla talking about her work in television on a favorite show of mine, Frontline on PBS. Great connections right off the bat, and this was just the beginning...
I love a good small world connection and it didn't take long to have a great one on Carla and Greg's wedding day. The beautiful Laudholm Farm would host the nuptials, but we started the day seaside by Wells Beach. Carla was getting all styled out in her gorgeous gown at a beach house named 'One Particular Harbor.' Across the street Wolfie donned his duds with groomsmen and friends. Small world indeed, as I quickly learned that all four of Greg's groomsmen went to the same high school as I did, Lincoln-Sudbury RHS. To top that off, a friend's younger sister was also in the house, adding to a great connection already felt with the wedding party.
And an incredible party it was; the sun drenched afternoon ceremony on the wide lawn was followed by a lively celebration in and around the great yellow barn. Guests were treated to a true bbq feast, with fare including pulled pork, beef brisket, cole slaw and corn bread (I had seconds). As night drew in, revelers migrated to the back of the barn for a jubilant dance party, the happy couple at it's center.
Carla and Wolfie: Congratulations! Thanks for having me! And enjoy your latest adventure...
