Leather boots. Silk scarves. Striped straws. Low light. Lobster.
Sarah and Drew, who live in New Jersey just outside Manhattan, brought their dearest family and friends to Maine to take over the Newagen Inn on Southport Island for a wonderful wedding weekend. A traditional lobster bake on a lucky warm fall evening kicked things off.
I couldn't help but smile overhearing everyone exclaim at the wondrous surroundings as they arrived, swapping travel stories, quick to extend a hand to a stranger to make a new friend or hug an old one. A deeply heartfelt and honest welcome by Drew's mother set the tone for the weekend, and decor by Kate Martin of Beautiful Days enhanced the cozy atmosphere. Trivial Pursuit and Nana's apple crisp kept guests lingering at their seats chatting beneath the glow of the sailcloth tent long after the lobsters had been enjoyed.
Next up, the wedding day!
