Patti and Chandler planned an amazing Maine vacation to celebrate their nuptials. It was the second marriage for both and their wedding week more closely resembled a close knit family reunion than your typical wedding day. It was an opportunity for their children to meet and spend time together, and the days were filled with croquet tournaments, dinners in the Old Port and a sailing trip in Casco Bay. You can imagine how excited I was to not only document their ceremony and celebratory dinner on Saturday, but also their sailing adventure the following morning.
I was a little nervous about the weather after Friday's fearsome storm (which sadly also canceled their hot air balloon plans!) as Saturday took awhile to clear up. As luck would have it though, the breeze settled and the sun came out just before Patti and Chandler said their I Dos.
The wedding took place at the Inn by the Sea, their gorgeous home-base for the week. The couple wed on the lawn by the gazebo with their son-in-law, John, officiating, and was later celebrated with drinks and dinner in the Crescent Room. Patti and Chandler's children toasted the newlyweds in an intimate reception as Patti and Chandler also expressed their love for their growing family. A few tears were shed, though the evening was predominantly filled with lots of laughter.
The weather the following morning was perfect for a sail. There wasn't a cloud in the sky though a steady breeze blew off the ocean. Overall the ride was smooth--minus one exciting tilt of the vessel towards water!--and everyone enjoyed their tour of local lighthouses, forts and islands in Casco Bay.
It was so lovely to spend time with you and your family, Patti and Chandler! Congratulations!!
