That said, the 64 guests were mostly on Erin's side, but Todd's family and a few close friends made the long trip from the South Pacific to Bristol, Maine and the 1812 Farm, a cute little venue with beautiful gardens on the Pemaquid Peninsula. Both Erin and Todd had that nervous but excited energy that every bride and groom has before their vows. A little different from when I first met them at the office in Portland a few months ago -- Todd was still jet-lagged from his flight from Oz and had a slew of wedding vendors to meet! I reminisced about my backpacking trip up the east coast of Australia, and we happily chatted about mutual friends, Emily and Meg, whose wedding I photographed on Peaks last year and had the most epic dancing ever!
Thanks to Pinterest, Erin was able to design and detail the wedding with her mom's help from around the globe. Pam is so crafty and made all of the decorations that guests enjoyed during cocktails and the reception -- centerpieces, flower arrangements, signs, displays, everything! It all looked wonderful.
Erin, Todd, and their Best Man and Matron of Honor, their siblings Brock and Laura, and myself did get to steal ourselves away to nearby Pemaquid Lighthouse during cocktail hour for some quintessential Maine coast photos, which will be a sweet reminder of their wedding day when they're back home in Australia. I think Todd is extra smitten with Erin now that they're married -- just the way he looked at her during our portrait time together, the way he bit his lip and tried to hold back tears when he caught his first glimpse of her during the ceremony, the way he holds her when he kisses her. Erin was just beaming with exuberance all day, and smiled even bigger whenever she was around Todd.
During the reception, everyone got to boogie down to live music of the Jim Ciampi Band, who kept folks grooving with a variety of songs. And they were still going in to the night when I left!
Congratulations, Erin and Todd! Thanks so much for allowing me to document your wedding day! Enjoy your wedding celebration in Australia, and your honeymoon in Hawaii. I'll be back to Byron Bay someday! :)
