Scarborough Beach engagement session of Rachel and Tyler

Meeting a couple for the first time at their engagement session is fairly common practice for me. It's a great warm-up for the wedding day and allows us all to make quick work getting the awkward out of the way (yes, I'm practically a stranger but yet in just a few moments I'm going to encourage cuddles and kisses for the camera!). Wine helps. As does being up for anything. And Rachel and Tyler were just that.

We met at Rachel's family's home in Scarborough. We walked to the beach nearby and talked about job aspirations, age differences between siblings, hidden pathways, hydrangeas, weddings at Colby and feeling a wee achy after the Beach to Beacon (them! not me!). Once at the beach, I helped them through a few poses and before long, they were moving effortlessly together. By session's end, they were even excited to climb a tree!

With that experience out of the way, and some memorable casual portraits of the two of them together, I can bet they'll be pros for portraits at their wedding next summer! Thanks for the chance to meet you, Rachel and Tyler!!!
