Bluewater Farm weekday wedding of Tiffany and Chris in Andover, New Hampshire

Tiffany and Chris had the most adorable small wedding with just their immediate families at Bluewater Farm in Andover, New Hampshire.  The drive to the rural spot with idyllic views of the New Hamphsire mountains and nearby lake were good for the soul.  Tiffany and Chris knew they wanted a small, intimate wedding celebration, so when Chris' parents (who retired near Lake Sunapee) had tipped them off to this little retreat, they were sold.  It was a destination wedding, with Tiffany's family coming in from Texas, which is also where the newlyweds reside.  In the coming months, they'll have a celebration in NJ for Chris' extended family.

The weather was beautiful and and day was filled with all the same moments as a larger wedding, but with a DIY vibe -- Tiffany's brother Justin playing DJ while simultaneously carrying out his aisle-walking duties!  Tiffany and Chris had to step into DJ role later, finding their first dance song to download on the spot as it mysteriously never made it on their ipod playlist!  Tiffany's brother-in-law Jacob officiated his first ceremony and his daughter Jessica was the flower girl.  Chris' sister Catherine played double-duty as both a bridesmaid and the best man (she delivered a stellar toast that had everyone laughing).  There was dining (Laura Powers cooked an amazing meal!), dancing, laughter, and love that felt bigger than the 15 people present.  There were candle-lit paper lanterns at the end of the night.  The venue required them to be tethered to a string and not let go into the atmosphere.  Well, that didn't quite happen.  Chris' mom Susan was the first to let hers go, forgetting to hold onto the end of the string, and the flame burned the string on another, sending that one up up and away to join its buddy.  Fortunately, there was emergency water nearby just in case, and I still managed to snap a couple shots of Tiffany and Chris in between the minor, but humorous chaos.  This scene might have been the funniest I've witnessed, or rather heard, since the night was pitch black!

Tiffany and Chris, you two were so fun, so kind, and so in love!  I adored every moment of documenting your wedding day and feel fortunate I was able to be a part of it all!  Hope you two lovebirds had lots of adventures in Maui!

How they met, in their own words:

Tiffany and Chris met through online dating, we were both a little wary of the online dating world but decided to give it a shot to see who was out there. After messaging back and forth on-line for a while, Chris finally got up the courage to give Tiffany a call and ask her on their first date. We met up at a little amusement park to play mini-golf (or putt-putt, as Tiffany calls it) and the sparks flew. We went to grab a drink afterwards and ran into a drunken prophet who randomly came up to the two of them while we were sitting at a table and said, "I was just watching you guys from over there, and you look perfect for each other." We laughed, thanked him and looked at each other, immediately saying, "I did not hire that guy to do that!" Little did we know that at age 28, on May 19th, 2012, we were in fact sitting together with that perfect person.

We began to spend a lot time together and shared a lot of common interests: food, travel, music, and the outdoors. On February 20, 2014, Chris took a half day from work and surprised Tiffany when she came home from work. While Tiffany was wondering what he was doing home, he popped the question on bended knee and Tiffany immediately exclaimed "Yes!" and jumped in his arms.

  1. Bluewater Farm is the site of my childhood summer camp - Camp Marlyn. I heard that it was converted into a retreat center and often used for weddings. How neat to see the old Lodge and Chapel site all decked out!
