Lee and Chris were wed at the compound that is The Barn at Hardy Farm. This location has it all: a rustic farmhouse, a revamped barn, a lodge through the woods, and a serene clearing among the trees for the ceremony. Add a platform for a big, beautiful tent, and you have an incredible spread for a celebration. Not to mention Fryeburg is close enough to the state line, about a quarter mile, that our New Hampshire couple surely felt right at home.
This late August wedding was one of those rare occasions where I knew the wedding was going to be incredibly fun right off the bat. Meeting Lee and her host of bridesmaids, in the fray of hair and makeup prep, I had an immediate sense of their closeness, as well as their genuine fun loving attitude toward the day. Anticipation and nerves, absolutely, but always with a smile or a laugh.
The same fun loving approach was clear in Chris and his groomsmen as well. Best men and brothers Nick and Matt were tight with Chris and with Lee as well, delivering heartfelt and hysterically funny toasts under the tent.
Our newlyweds were clearly having a ball at the reception, visiting with every one of their guests; grandparents and newborns, aunts and uncles, old friends and new friends. The final move of the night came as the party descended upon the barn and dance floor within. It was a quiet night in Fryeburg, unless you were down by the NH border at Lee and Chris' wedding, where sounds of celebration rang out into the night...
Thanks for having me along for the ride, it was truly a privilege!
