Pink Initiative pop-up portrait day with Gus and Ruby recap

I've talked about doing a mini session Saturday with Gus and Ruby for a few years and it finally came together last weekend. It was a dark rainy day- and I mean dark- so our first choice space for shooting in an historic mill in Dover, New Hampshire (that also houses the Gus and Ruby printing studio) was nixed. We retreated to a stairwell landing (that the rest of the emilie inc. team once used for a winter wedding inspiration styled shoot) for our Plan B and as Tim Gunn would say, we made it work! A sweet tassel garland from Fancy Face Studio and a plush white blanket were the backdrop for portraits with some of the area's most darling families. They sure brought the cute! Each group had 10 minutes with me and then spent some time sorting through Gus and Ruby's holiday card selections to choose their favorite design. I donated my session fee and print sales to Pink Initiative, the 501(c)(3) non-profit for breast cancer research and awareness I started in 2008. There was an abundance of giggles, impressive parent dance moves, quick feet, Elmo appearances, outfit changes and crumbs. I had a total blast. Enjoy a little peek at the fun.
