I met Sarah and her family at her stepfather’s summer beach house, just up the road from Long Sands Beach in York, Maine. Love that little cottage and the screen door that clacks shut just shy of your heels when you walk out — the sound that summer has arrived in New England. I could tell there is lots of family history in those walls. The house has been in Dick’s family for decades. I felt lucky to be able to spend a little time with them in that home. Sarah’s brother Michael and his two boys arrived just in time with amazingly high spirits, considering they had been driving through Boston traffic for almost four hours! Sarah’s mother Barbara showed her nurturing side making sure I was nourished and hydrated. Sarah’s son Reece kept me on my photo game, initially not wanting to be in any pictures. In the end, we got to find the best beach rocks ever, make some silly faces, play some good ol’ backyard whiffle ball, and photograph some new memories. Thanks for allowing me to do so!
