This was one of those weddings that just flew by! Whitney and I started late morning and snapped away until well into the reception, but it went by in a blur. I knew Stefanie was going to be a fun bride already, since we had met, and she did not disappoint. There's so much energy buzzing around in that tiny body, it just makes you smile. She looked classically beautiful in her Grace Kelly-esque dress, and Bryan was equally handsome in a tailored blue suit.
The ceremony was at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church overlooking Boothbay Harbor. Stefanie's father (known as "The Commander) walking her down the aisle in his navy whites was an image everyone there is sure to remember. After a lovely service, this couple celebrated by having guests blow bubbles as they exited the church, which was followed by a gorgeous boat ride with the entire wedding party back to the Newagen. Celebratory Cristal was popped and I heard Stefanie whisper to Bryan not to be too heavy on the pours because she wanted them to be able to enjoy a healthy glass. Girl after my own heart!
Guests were treated to cocktails and snacks on the patio which was followed by dinner inside. "The Commander" took his opportunity to toast his daughter and Bryan thoroughly with many stories of Stefanie's take charge nature and Bryan's attempts at winning over his now father-in-law.
DJ Dan got people on their feet and they danced the night away while also being treated to ice cream sundaes, yum!
Stefanie and Bryan, I had such a great time with you two, as did Whitney! Thank you so much for having us and I hope Spain was amazing!
How they met, according to Stefanie:
Bryan and I both attended SUNY Albany however our paths never crossed until senior year. It was the first weekend back to school of our final year and everyone was out to have a good time. It was by chance that Bryan and I ended up at the same place. I had seen him from across the room early in the night and approached him later at the bar. At first, Bryan had no interest and didn't even offer to buy me a drink but after he took a second look, we were inseparable the entire night.
I have been going to Maine since I was seven years old and it was only natural for Bryan to fall in love with it just as much as I had. Every year we try to plan two getaway trips from the fast paced city, New York, and thought why not have our special day in a state that exudes relaxation, peace and love. Having both grown up on the water, myself from Annapolis, Maryland and Bryan from Long Island, New York, we decided Newagen Seaside Inn was the perfect location. Our own private oasis that we could share with our closest family and friends. Everywhere you turned, there were parts of Maine that represented us as couple, lobster rolls, blueberry jams and Saddleback ski trail table names. We tried to make our wedding symbolic for the two us while giving our guests a glimpse to all of Maine's glory.
