It was eight years in the making for Rachel and Tyler’s wedding day. Meeting at Colby College, the couple decided to return to Waterville, Maine with about 150 of their friends and family to tie the knot. Fortunately, the rain stayed clear north of Portland, allowing for a beautiful day on campus. Lots of happy tears during the ceremony gave way to lots of laughs and impressive dance moves at the reception. Two of the bridesmaids said years ago when Rachel and Tyler started dating, they would be giving a toast at their wedding. And toast they did. Apparently it is Colby fashion to turn something into a drinking game, so every time the girls said “Colby” in their toast, guests had to drink. Past Blue Ribbon tall boys were provided if guests were empty-handed. Another toast revealed in good humor that Tyler came to college with his “blankey,” and yet another toast called out Uncle Neil who then freely joined the sweetheart table to encourage his nephew and new wife to smooch. This was a comical bunch who knew how to have a good time, and more importantly, how to celebrate for their dear newlyweds! Although some White Mules couldn’t make it, almost two dozen fellow alums were in attendance. I’m sure they hadn’t partied in Cotter Union like that before… well, maybe :)
Congratulations, Rachel and Tyler! Katie and I loved being able to document your wedding day. Hope you enjoyed your Bar Harbor mini-moon!
