Kennebunkport wedding of Holly and Brendan at The Colony

Would it rain? Would it not rain? Ceremony inside or outside? These were the questions that Holly and Brendan were having to face when I arrived on a wet Sunday afternoon to The Colony.  It's unfortunate when this is the case, but Holly was rolling with it.  She was enjoying having her makeup done as her bridesmaids milled about and drank champagne with her in her room.  Holly and Brendan's sweet pup, Hilly, was also hanging with ladies and seemingly wondering what all the fuss was about.

Brendan and his guys were able to hang out outside on the covered balcony of Brendan's room.  They seemed nonplussed, as guys often do, with the weather and decisions that would need to be made. I got the feeling that everyone knew Holly would make the call when she was ready, so why not enjoy themselves while they waited?

The ceremony did end up happening outside. While it was raining during the processional, it did lighten up as things went along. Good call, Holly!  I was relieved to see that was the case as these two said their sweet vows, Hilly watching it all intently.

After some misty photos outside, we all headed inside for dinner.  Holly and Brendan mixed things up by introducing their own bridal party, complete with funny anecdotes about each person. It was a nice change from the norm, we've all seen some DJ's struggle to pronounce names of people they've only just met.

After dinner, this crowd danced! Brendan's family in particular seriously got down. Guests also enjoyed cupcakes and a self-serve candy bar which was attacked the second it opened.

All that dancing and sugar made going for a swim seem like a great idea, and the party moved to the pool bar.  Although the pool was technically closed, and some guests were told so explicitly, a few people ended up in the water anyway.

Holly and Brendan (and Hilly!), thank you so much for including me on your big day!
