The vibe at this wedding was so perfect and so Maine. Erica and Seth chose to get married at a former summer camp nestled along Pleasant Pond. Cute little guest cabins dotted the woods, many of their occupants were out taking walks or even manning a smoker that was cooking meat for the barbecue reception. The lodge was decorated with candles and paper flowers hanging from the ceiling, a most welcoming space for guests. The ceremony spot was a short walk down to a large sand beach, complete with a volleyball net and little dock.
This couple also set the tone to be relaxed and casual from the beginning, which carried throughout the entire day. Erica got ready at her own house, with help from her soon-to-be sister-in-law and professional stylist, Chelsea. This bride was more concerned that everyone else there got their hair and makeup done than herself. She also wore a beautiful two-piece outfit handmade by her mother. Amazing. Seth was busy back at The Great Outdoors making sure everything was ready and maybe having a couple of beers while he did it.
After a sweet ceremony with plenty of laughs thrown in, everyone enjoyed drinks in and around the lodge with the smell of smoked chicken, brisket, and pulled pork wafting through the air. When it was finally time to eat, it was a feast. Alongside all the meats was cornbread, coleslaw, mac and cheese, all the fixings you could want. It was also really nice to see how friends and family came together to make it all happen, including Erica and Seth.
There were some great toasts, including one by Seth's much younger little brother, Wyatt, that was both adorable and hysterical. With full-bellies, it was dancing time for this crew which continued throughout the night. Erica even changed into a skirt and flats so she could bust a move a little more easily.
Erica and Seth, thank you so much for including me on your most amazing day! I had a blast!
