spring wedding of Bonnie and Mark at the Samoset Resort

by whitney

I kicked off my 2015 wedding season with Bonnie and Mark's spring wedding at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine.  Still early in the year, they opted for an indoor celebration for about 90 close friends and family.  Kristen Winters of Beehive Creative Events executed the big day beautifully, keeping us all on schedule and keeping family formal photos rolling.  Will of the Samoset was, of course, there as well making sure the day went off with out a hitch.

Bonnie and Mark have an undeniable connection and the toasts confirmed that.  The flowers by Season's Downeast were beautiful, the band Flipside was electric and super talented, the dancing was impressive- one guest even jammed out on the cowbell (Christopher Walken's character on the Saturday Night Live Blue Oyster Cult skit would have been proud!)!  Kristen was kind enough to bring Denise and I a slice of wedding cake.  I never eat cake, but the bride's brother, who owns Primo Restaurant in Rockland, baked it, so I had to indulge in the tiramisu deliciousness.  And I'm glad I did - I could have eaten a whole tier!

Congratulations, Bonnie and Mark!  You did it!  Enjoy your newlywed status!

baby Baxter

The last time I was at their house, a wedding dress was hanging from this poster bed and we were toasting a beautiful wedding on the hottest (literally) of summer days. This time, it was a brisk spring day to commemorate a baptismal weekend.

Say hello to curious and kind 8 month-old Baxter. Flanked by adoring parents, we cycled through some favorite outfits and extended cuddle sessions in their beautiful Falmouth Foreside home. First "born" pooch Henry was excited to be included as well.

My heart was mush throughout, this being the most meaningful perk to being a wedding photographer. The wedding is just the beginning! So looking forward to seeing this favorite little family grow!

wedding anniversary album

by

On Saturday we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. I surprised J with a wedding album. If you can believe it, we had yet to have one made! Crazy, I know (I can empathize with the cobbler's children not having any shoes).

I opted for a flush style 10x10 with a blue linen cover that matched our wedding colors (orange and blue). I still daydream about owning a breathtaking Queensberry, but it's not in our budget at the moment. As I was planning for our anniversary, it became increasingly important that we not wait any longer lusting for the perfect book. It's not about just us anymore, it's about sharing the history of our St. John wedding with two little people now, too.

Watching the kids climb onto the sofa with J to get a closer glimpse of us in our wedding clothes on an island they have come to love, too, with so many familiar faces appearing on the pages was absolutely priceless. "Where's Asher?" Will asked when spotting our dear friends without their child. "Not born yet!" replied J. "Look at cousins Ollie and Gus! They're so little!" "There's a donkey!" And on and on.

I love my little family and am so grateful to FINALLY have a book to commemorate our special beginning that we can all enjoy.

We want everyone to afford this experience. Hop over to our online shop to purchase your wedding day keepsake album, now starting at $750 and at your door within two weeks.

Our wedding photography is by the lovely Jules Bianchi.

Maine wedding fashion

It's been such fun to see the new 2016 spring lines coming out of Bridal Fashion Week in New York City. Plunging necklines, attached skirts, daring use of lace and skin. I'm excited to see what new trends our beautiful couples will adopt. Below, a few of our favorite looks from last season.

announcing wedding ceremony vows + toasts videography

by nicole

Having a videographer at your wedding doesn't always mesh with our photojournalistic, fly-on-the-wall approach to capturing your big day. But we totally appreciate how our couples want to enjoy their ceremony and special toasts from a different angle.

A photograph speaks a thousand words, but, admittedly, it can't bring back the sound of a loved one's laugh or the hitch in your bridesmaid's breath as she kept happy tears at bay. Those nervous flutters you felt as you exchanged vows will only return anew when you watch them again on your anniversary.

This is why we're so excited to announce to our couples the emilie inc. vows + toasts videography add-on with our lovely former intern and frequent second shooter, Lindsay Heald.

Like things simple? We offer a straightforward, color-corrected, uncut video of your ceremony and toasts. Prefer a more polished, and creative edit? We can do that too. Want to secure Lindsay for your big day? Contact us!
