I was thrilled to come back to York for Anne and Craig's wedding after photographing their engagement session here last fall. Anne has been wanting to get married at the Reading Room since she was young, having looked up at it from the York Harbor Beach over many summers. However, it almost didn't happen! After Craig's proposal, they inquired at the Reading Room for the 2015 season and... they were booked. Booked solid for the entire summer. After this heartbreaking news, Craig and Anne's dad, Ed, were tasked with going out one day and looking at venues. They came up with some solid ideas and were close to booking another spot, when they received a call from Mary Mace, the wedding coordinator at the Reading Room. She told them that in 15 years they had never had a cancellation, but alas, she had one for June 13th!
Thank goodness it all worked out, because it's obvious these two were supposed to have their celebration here. After a lovely ceremony at the Star of the Sea church in town, and some photos out and about, we came back to the Reading Room for the party. It was a perfect day weather-wise, although it hadn't looked that way earlier in the week. Guests wandered about the patio and the grounds with cocktails, then were invited inside for dinner, toasts, and dancing. I especially loved hearing Ed's toast, where he recounted the near miss with the venue, and had some tear jerking words about his daughter that only dads can say.
Anne and Craig, thank you so much for having Whitney and I! We loved spending the day with you and hope you had an amazing time in Greece and Italy!

It's been almost exactly 3 years since I photographed Amanda and Mike's wedding in Cape Elizabeth, and I got to return to that very spot to meet their 8 month old son, Rex. I had such a lovely time at their wedding that I just knew seeing them as a family would be something special, and it was. This little guy is such a character already! He was also rocking some hair that just would not play nicely, which I loved. And seeing the looks on Amanda and Mike's faces as they watched their son just filled my heart. I walked away from this shoot with a huge smile on my face. Thank you so much for having me, Amanda and Mike! And little baby Rex too!

It's a little wild to think that I first photographed this busy toddler when she was days old. Now she's a walking, talking funny little person! We strolled to Falmouth's Town Landing, their usual afternoon routine, for some shell searching and boat counting before retreating home as raindrops began to fall. So grateful to Charlotte's parents for regularly inviting me to document their family – this marked Charlotte's sixth session! Adore you three (four! Wyatt the pup, too!)!
