I went to fetch Jason after Annelies was finished getting ready so they could have a first look. He and I walked down a little trail to a secluded spot for them to see each other that had a little shade, because it was a super hot and humid day! Annelies came soon after and traded out her pretty bridal flats for some hiking boots, my kind of girl! They stole a few moments together, we did a few quick portraits, and headed back up to cool off before everyone arrived.
After a beautiful ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails on the deck with the stunning view of Penobscot Bay that Point Lookout is known for. It's always a hoot to watch people who have never been to Maine take in the scenery. I get so spoiled living here and shooting at beautiful venues all the time that I take it for granted, so watching people be blown away by it helps me remember.
Everyone gathered inside for the reception to watch Annelies and Jason's first dance and hear some funny and touching toasts. Annelies put a lot of work into all the details and was a DYI rockstar, and it showed. She found the cutest cake topper on Etsy that was a little miniature version of her and Jason wearing hiking boots!
After dinner, the floor opened up for dancing and guests wandered in and out, taking advantage of the view again to watch the sun go down. Things cooled off and it was a beautiful summer night on the coast.
Annelies and Jason, thank you so very much for having me!
