Andrea and her ladies were all hanging out in the house getting beautified and sipping on champagne (with gummi bear garnishes) in their matching robes when I arrived. Everyone was crammed into one bedroom, either getting hair and makeup done, chatting with each other, petting Josie (who may have rolled in some horse manure, made me feel right at home!) or making sure Andrea had what she needed. This bride was relaxed and cracking people up as she got ready, including having her long hair curled and accessorized with a flower crown. Andrea mentioned that Dan would LOVE her hair and that it would be the most important thing about how she looked that day. She does have crazy beautiful long locks, can't blame him!
We met the guys at the church (same one Sara and Brett were married in!) that is what every photographer hopes for...it is darling and is light and bright inside. The ceremony was so sweet, with several points of laughter, but also several touching moments. This couple is just one of those that everyone knows is just meant to be together. They make sense, and they clearly adore each other.
After the I Do's, Dan lifted Andrea into an antique Jeep that his grandfather used to use for tasks around the farm, and these two headed back for the reception (at no more than 20 mph). I loved that upon arrival the first thing Dan did was wipe oil off his shoes, then went around to carry Andrea from her seat to the lawn.
After some photos and cocktail hour on the side lawn, guests moseyed into the main tent for the reception. Dan and Andrea impressed with a first dance that included him lifting her up and twirling her around. Picking up your bride seems to come naturally when you're as tall as Dan and as petite as Andrea!
Toasts were given, dinner was had, and we snuck out as the light was fading for some portraits in the pasture and by the barn. Everyone was ready to dance after dinner... and boy did they! Getting down was only interrupted by a fun fireworks display, then back to dancing. I also got to see another couple whose wedding I had photographed, Renee and George, back in 2013. This wedding just could not have been any better!
Andrea and Dan, thank you SO much for having Lindsay and I photograph your day! I so loved seeing your family again, Dan, and meeting yours, Andrea. I hope you are still enjoying your European honeymoon!
